Charity Auction- for Connor Hayman Closed (#142103832)
In February 2023 Connor Hayman who is 17 years old was diagnosed with Anaplastic large cell lymphoma which is a rare, aggressive, and painful type of T-cell lymphoma. Connor went through his first round of chemo and was so lucky to be supported by the IWK Oncology team. He was informed in July that he was in remission but just a couple of weeks later fell sick again and everyone was shocked that his lymphoma had returned just as aggressively and was stage 4 once again. Although his father Stuart has been able to work, his mother Lisa has needed to be off work and collecting Employment insurance which is running out on November 19th . Without a period of remission her benefits could not be replenished.
Recently the family has received some positive news. Connor’s younger brother Rhys (14 years
old) is a 100% bone marrow match! This is exceptionally rare and the miracle the family needed!
More good news has followed that the bone marrow transfer will be done here in Halifax! This
will require a period of 4 months isolation for Connor and his mother close by his side
throughout the recovery process.
This auction has been organized by friends and family of Connor with the generous donations
from the community, friends and family members to ease the financial burden on the family. We
